Test results

Viewing your test results

You can view many of your test results using the NHS App, once they have been received and added to your GP record.

Results are reviewed by a healthcare professional. If a result requires further action, we will contact you with advice about what you need to do next.

Different tests take different amounts of time to be processed, so some results may take longer to become available than others.

Questions about your results

If you have received a result and would like further information or have a question about what it means, you can submit a request using PATCHS.

Ask about a test result using PATCHS

If you are unable to use PATCHS, you can contact our reception team on 01274 484111 after 10:00am to enquire about your results.

Please remember that our reception team are not clinically trained to interpret test results. They can provide information that has been recorded by the clinician and arrange further advice where needed.

Tests arranged by a hospital or another service

If a test was arranged by a hospital, consultant or another healthcare service, they are normally responsible for reviewing the result and informing you of the outcome.

Please contact the team that arranged the test if you have not received your result or need to discuss it.

Some hospital results that have been shared with your GP record may also become visible in the NHS App.

Samples

If you have been asked to provide a urine, stool or other sample, please make sure it is clearly labelled with your name and date of birth.

Samples should be handed to reception before 3:00pm so that they can be prepared for collection.

Please only bring a sample to the practice if it has been requested by a clinician or healthcare professional. We cannot routinely send unsolicited samples to the laboratory for testing.
