Home visits are provided to patients whose condition makes it impossible for them to attend the surgery. Transport problems are not a reason to request a home visit.
If you require a home visit then please call the practice before 11 am and give as much detail why the visit is required to the receptionist. Visits requested after 11 am will be passed to the doctor on-call and they will prioritise them appropriately. The receptionist cannot guarantee a time that you will receive your visit.
The clinician may call before they visit and this could be to assess the urgency of your visit, or to assess whether it may be more appropriate to offer advice or a referral to other services.
Please note that a clinician can see at least 4 patients at the surgery in the time it takes us to do one visit so we very much appreciate your efforts in attending the surgery.
